We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts to move, load, and unload materials within our warehouse. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse management systems and the ability to perform heavy lifting as needed. The Forklift Operator will play a crucial part in ensuring efficient operations and maintaining safety standards.
Duties
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to load and unload goods from lorries.
- Move materials around the warehouse as required, ensuring proper handling practices are followed.
- Conduct regular inspections of forklift equipment and perform basic equipment repairs when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movements using the warehouse management system.
- Assist in shipping and receiving processes, ensuring that all items are accounted for and properly stored.
- Perform heavy lifting tasks as required, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations within the warehouse environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting is essential.
- Basic maths skills for inventory management and record keeping.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to assist with equipment repair and maintenance.
- Familiarity with materials handling techniques and safety regulations.
- Experience with shipping and receiving processes is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks consistently throughout the shift.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in managing warehouse operations.
