Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Counterbalance Forklift Driver to join our warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating a counterbalance forklift to handle materials, assist with shipping and receiving tasks, and maintain efficient warehouse operations. This role requires a strong understanding of warehouse procedures, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to perform heavy lifting as needed. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a counterbalance forklift to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse.
- Manage materials handling tasks efficiently, ensuring accurate placement and retrieval of goods.
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes, including verifying deliveries and preparing items for dispatch.
- Conduct basic equipment repairs and maintenance checks to ensure forklift safety and functionality.
- Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and update records accurately.
- Perform manual handling duties involving heavy lifting, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards.
- Support warehouse organisation by maintaining clean and orderly work areas.
- Collaborate with team members to optimise workflow and meet operational deadlines.
Qualifications
- Valid counterbalance forklift licence or certification recognised in the UK.
- Proven experience operating forklifts within a warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) is desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge or experience with equipment repair is advantageous.
- Strong materials handling skills with the ability to load and unload efficiently.
- Familiarity with shipping & receiving procedures.
- Basic mathematical skills for inventory counts and measurements.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or walking within the warehouse setting.
Pay: £13.00-£13.50 per hour
