Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Saw Operator/Edge banding operative to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in operating various saws and cutting equipment as well as edge banding equipment. This role is crucial in ensuring that materials are cut accurately and efficiently, contributing to the overall production process. The Workshop assistant will work closely with other team members to maintain high standards of quality and safety within the workshop environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain saws and cutting machinery to produce precise cuts according to specifications.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and CAD designs to ensure accurate cutting of materials.
- Assemble components as required, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Utilise hand tools and equipment effectively for various tasks related to cutting and assembly.
- Perform regular maintenance checks on machinery, reporting any issues promptly.
- Handle materials safely, ensuring proper storage and organisation within the warehouse.
- Collaborate with team members to optimise production processes and improve efficiency.
- Follow all health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Use of Edge banding equipment and CNC drills.
Skills
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and CAD software for interpreting designs.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in tooling and machinery operation.
- Ability to assemble components accurately using hand tools.
- Familiarity with milling processes and techniques is advantageous.
- Experience in materials handling within a warehouse setting is preferred.
- Basic welding skills would be beneficial but are not essential.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
