We are seeking a dedicated Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts and other heavy equipment to facilitate the movement of materials within our warehouse. Your contributions will play a vital role in ensuring smooth warehouse operations mainly in the Goods In department, supporting shipping and receiving processes, and maintaining inventory accuracy. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in warehouse distribution and materials handling, demonstrating a commitment to safety and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Operate Bendi forklifts, pallet jacks, and clamp trucks to load and unload materials safely.
- Perform order picking duties using RF scanners to ensure accurate inventory management.
- Assist in shipping and receiving activities, verifying shipments against purchase orders.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the warehouse environment.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety.
- Support heavy lifting tasks as required, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Participate in training sessions on warehouse management systems and mechanical knowledge.
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse operations, including shipping & receiving processes.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts, order pickers, clamp trucks, and other heavy equipment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for efficient inventory control.
- Ability to handle heavy lifting tasks safely and effectively.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate order picking.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with team members and supervisors.
