We are seeking a reliable and experienced 3.5t Van Driver/Warehouse Operative to join our team. This role involves delivering goods efficiently while maintaining the organisation and safety of our warehouse operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing stock, handling materials, and ensuring timely deliveries, all within a fast-paced environment. Previous warehouse experience and mechanical knowledge are advantageous, alongside a valid driving licence.
Driving is mainly in the South East with No central London but occasional Midlands.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a 3.5-tonne van for daily deliveries and collections across designated routes
- Assist with loading and unloading goods using appropriate manual handling techniques and forklift when authorised
- Manage stock levels through accurate picking, packing, and shipping & receiving procedures
- Utilise warehouse management systems (WMS) and AS400 software to track inventory and process orders
- Maintain organisation within the warehouse, including stocking shelves and ensuring materials are stored correctly
- Conduct routine vehicle checks to ensure safety standards are met before each shift
- Support with general warehouse duties such as materials handling, mechanical repairs, and maintaining cleanliness of work areas
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times during operations
Requirements
- Valid driving licence suitable for a 3.5t van with a clean driving record
- Previous experience in warehouse management or logistics is preferred
- Knowledge of forklift operation (certification advantageous)
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and AS400 is desirable
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely and efficiently during loading/unloading activities
- Mechanical aptitude or knowledge related to warehouse equipment or construction tools is beneficial
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in stock management and order processing
- Good communication skills to coordinate with team members effectively
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within a busy warehouse environment
Pay: £27,000.00-£29,000.00 per year
