We are seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient movement of materials within our product environment. This position requires a strong understanding of warehouse/stores operations and the ability to operate forklifts safely and effectively.
***You will be required to work early and late shifts***
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts to load and unload materials from lorries and containers.
- Manage inventory using a Warehouse Management System (WMS) to ensure accurate tracking of stock levels.
- Perform shipping and receiving duties, ensuring all items are accounted for and in good condition.
- Handle materials safely, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks as required, ensuring proper techniques are used to prevent injury.
- Collaborate with team members to optimise workflow and improve warehouse processes.
Skills
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse setting.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems for inventory control.
- Strong mechanical knowledge for equipment repair and maintenance tasks.
- Basic mathematical skills for accurate inventory counting and record keeping.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks consistently throughout the shift.
- Experience in materials handling, shipping, and receiving processes is highly desirable.
